At BWCN we are involved in a range of projects that aim to improve outcomes for our community. Our Repower Business In Brisbane West community forum held earlier this year served as a link between community energy organisers, renewable experts and our community to enable informed choice when it comes to deciding how we generate electricity. We believe many businesses and individuals are often in the dark when it comes to making the switch to renewable energy and taking advantage of the economic benefits it presents.
BWCN joined the Australian Conservation Foundation in calling on our politicians to protect the Great Barrier Reef by rejecting the expansion of coal mining and supporting renewable energy. With our reef already under enormous pressure, we are working hard to raise community awareness to ensure that our politicians make the choice of coral, not coal. Part of our work around this is to support the #StopAdani movement to ensure that one of the largest coal mines on earth doesn't negatively impact our climate and our reef.

THE PEOPLE'S CLIMATE MARCH
BWCN members took part in the People's Climate March to demonstrate our support for government policy that protects our environment from industries that put nature at risk. This is a vital and ongoing cause and we are working hard to engage with the broader community on the benefits of strong environmental policies that put the health of nature, climate and people first.
At Brisbane West Conservation Network, we believe in a future where thriving forests, abundant oceans and clean air can exist in harmony with progress. Get in touch with us and see how you can be a part of our community.
